Overview:
Provide Human Resources support for mid-size hospital in Albuquerque, NM (1500+ employees); support one or more of numerous business units; support employees across numerous physical locations and shifts. Under the guidance of the HR Director, implement initiatives to ensure LMC (and other business units) attracts, develops, and retains a best-in-class workforce. Ensure processes are scalable for a growing business including:
- Core Capabilities: Program Management; Resource Management; Relationship Management; and, Customer Service: Develop proactive and innovative programs that support a culture of accountability and support employee engagement. Measure results of all programs using quantitative and qualitative results. Monitor resource allocation and ROI. Leverage programs and resources to deliver exceptional service.
- Engage with “Excellence…Always!” the LMC Studer engagement focused at driving best in class clinical outcomes and employee engagement.
- Guides and counsels leaders.
- Recruitment and talent acquisition: works with leaders on workforce management and staffing; sources and hires new employees focusing on “right person for right job.” Tacks and measures retention and hiring rates.
- Employee Relations: ensure employee issues are resolved legally and in accordance with policy and culture.
- Employee Development: facilitate training for new employees and develop programs for skills growth for existing employees/managers.
- Policy: ensure policies align with strategy and are clearly communicated. Assist in the development of employee handbook in alignment with our culture.
- Benefits: communicate programs to leaders and employees.
- Performance Management: assist in development of processes to align company strategy to individual goals. Ensure programs tie performance to rewards.
- Ensure processes aligned for on-boarding, terminations, and data integrity amongst disparate systems. Perform HR Generalist duties such as exit interviews and make sure employees are transitioned upon hiring, through employee changes, and terminations.
- Training: map current training to jobs so employees may access current training available.
- Communications: ensure employees and leaders are informed about human resource and important business matters.
- Innovation: remain networked with external community of HR professionals and business leaders to remain aware of best in class programs. Partner with others as needed to be with community programs.
- Operational Effectiveness: ensure programs are cost effective and scaleable to a growing business. Look for opportunities for improvement.
- Compensation and Career Management: Assist in development of defined career progression aligned to compensation using external and internal market data.
Working Relationships:
- This position reports to the Director of Human Resources.
- Represent LMC with community at business functions.
- Form strong, supportive relationships with LMC leaders.
Position Requirements:
- Successful candidate must have experience as an HR Generalist, preferably in a health care setting, or a mid-size to large organization; ability to connect with leaders, deploy process improvement and function effectively as a collaborative member of a dynamic team.
- Able to be a thought leader while implementing at the tactical level.
- Aptitude for developing scalable practices for growing business.
- Experience is typically gained with 3 – 5 years in multiple disciplines of HR which may include talent management, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, employee relations, policy and program management as well as HR compliance.
- Technically proficient in HR software systems and Microsoft Office Products. Desire experience with Sharepointe, Lawson, ImageNow or similar tools.
- Preference for candidates who have worked in health care, especially with clients in disparate work environments and multiple locations / shifts.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and explain using strong verbal and written communications skills as well as interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel infrequently.
- Able to work over 40 hours a week as needed.
- Self motivated.
- Bachelor degree required. PHR or SPHR preferred but not required.
